"It is now such a passion of mine, I almost feel guilty when I'm out buying new stones or making new pieces, because to me, it's still a hobby and something that I derive so much pleasure from. It fits in beautifully with family life. Fortunately I was in a position to take early retirement from my career in marketing about five years ago and in between having a late third child, bringing up two teenagers (all boys), training and walking our labradoodle and being a full time mum, I have been able to turn my hand, and many years of stifled creativity, to something new and exciting - hopefully bringing pleasure to others".
How and where to buy Petite Bijouterie
"Before this website, my only route to market was private parties. I would dearly love to open a shop but that requires a huge commitment and a significant investment, both in terms of time and money. So, for now this website is my shop. Other 'shop windows' being private parties, functions, events and bead and craft fairs. For a list of forthcoming diary dates and how to book one, click here".
Lisa tells us how it all started
"Three years ago I found myself searching the high street for a necklace to go with a particular outfit. I knew just the sort of thing I was looking for but just couldn't find anything suitable. So, I decided to buy some silver wire, beads and cording and make something for myself. I ended up making three necklaces with my materials, then picked my favoutite to wear out. That night two friends admired the necklace and asked where I'd bought it. When I told them that I had made it they suggested I should make some more.......so I did. A month or so later Petite Bijouterie was born!"
There are a couple of individuals I can count on to lend a hand at busy periods and generally give their support; the wonderful Debbie, a good friend and neighbour, my sister Stephanie and a few others, but in the main it's me. I may have to recruit some of my nieces one day, when they are a little older.
